Salary Range: $62,000 - $69,900
A&M San Antonio’s Institute for School and Community Partnerships (ISCP) is a model institute partnering with the Texas A&M University at San Antonio and area organizations. The mission of the ISCP is to transform students through innovative practices, research, and policy. The ISCP’s model includes school system transformation, improving services to children for early intervention, and PK-12 district partnerships that prepare students for college and high-demand careers. The ISCP is a hub of excellence for understanding and impacting child and youth development through innovative student-centered approaches, career-ready models, student-led research, and high-demand workforce opportunities for all students.
Driving Possibilities is a collaborative initiative of The Toyota USA Foundation that involves the ISCP, East Central Independent School District (ECISD), and the United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County (UWSA). Working through the ISCP which is the nonprofit coordinator of the project, Driving Possibilities seeks to provide high-quality STEM education for children in San Antonio and to provide services and resources that address community-wide basic needs that assist children and their families.
Position Overview:
The Driving Possibilities Project Director will serve as a key leader in advancing the goals of the Driving Possibilities initiative in partnership with ECISD, Toyota, and the San Antonio community. This role requires a strategic, community-focused leader with a strong background in public education, STEM program development, and innovative partnership building. The Project Director is an employee of the ISCP and will coordinate across schools, industry, higher education, and community organizations to create a sustainable ecosystem that supports student success from early learning through career pathways.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the overall implementation and coordination of the Driving Possibilities initiative in collaboration with ECISD, Toyota, community partners, and the ISCP leadership team.
- Design, develop, and support innovative STEM education and workforce development programming across K-12 and postsecondary systems.
- Engage with families, educators, community organizations, and business leaders to build comprehensive support systems for student success.
- Establish strong relationships with school leadership and teachers to ensure seamless integration of Driving Possibilities initiatives into existing school structures.
- Identify and leverage additional funding and partnership opportunities to expand and sustain programming.
- Oversee project evaluation efforts to measure impact and report outcomes to funders and stakeholders.
- Facilitate cross-sector collaboration that connects schools to workforce pathways, with a focus on innovative, equity-driven approaches.
- Manage project budget in collaboration with ISCP leadership to ensure responsible stewardship of funds.
- Serve as the primary spokesperson for the project at meetings, community forums, and partner events.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred (Education, Public Administration, Community Development, STEM fields, or related areas).
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a public-school setting.
- Demonstrated experience in STEM education program development and/or coordination.
- Strong background in community engagement, partnership building, and cross-sector collaboration.
- Proven ability to design and implement innovative initiatives that span education, community, and workforce sectors.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and project management skills.
- Proficient in data collection, ensuring accurate and timely gathering of relevant information to support the project.
Preferred Skills:
- Deep understanding of the San Antonio community, ECISD, and its education and workforce landscape.
- Experience managing large-scale, multi-stakeholder initiatives.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills a plus.
- Experience with grant management and reporting preferred.
