TEAM SUMMIT

On June 4th the Institute for School and Community Partnerships (ISCP) hosted the first team summit with esteemed facilitator, Dr. Suhkdeep Kaur and a few guest speakers. The summit provided the ISCP team an opportunity to learn about each of the team members' strengths using the CliftonStrengthsFinders while also spending time to develop plans for next academic year. Guest speakers, Julia Grizzard, Executive Director of Bexar County Education Coalition, provided a detailed debrief of the past legislative session and spent time answering questions about pieces of legislation impacting public school systems. Each ISCP SB1882 school campus as well as the CAST STEM campus were represented and the team agreed to meet at least 2-3 times a year to ensure positive student outcomes. Special thanks to A&M San Antonio for hosting the ISCP team at the beautiful Patriot's Casa.

Gus Garcia End of Year

The last few weeks of the year included preparing for and celebrating the important transitions of scholars at each campus. Gus Garcia University School is no different. Teachers, staff and administrators celebrated 8th grade promotions with a picnic and a field day on June 11th. The 8th grade LifeSkills unit was celebrated for their completion and transition (pictured here). An Athletics Banquet was well attended and ensured that all scholars were able celebrate the successes of the students. Gus Garcia teachers and administrators are now preparing for next academic year and will enjoy a break for summer. Congratulations 8th Graders!

Burleson End of Year

Burleson's Transition IV students were celebrated with a picnic and fun day to send these students off to work and careers beginning this summer. Several of the students, including Board of Director, Celestino Cervantes have job offers awaiting them at end of the academic semester. Burleson will host summer programming and will also host several tours and conversations to build the Transition space in Bexar County. Continued recruitment for Burleson is planned with various opportunities throughout the summer. Congratulations to all the students transitioning to the workforce and we look forward to the new year!
